Police on Millport are appealing for information following a series of attempted break-ins but have asked locals and businesses to remain vigilant.

The attempts have taken place outside storage areas and commerical units - a total of five known incidents have been reported in Millport since 27 November. On each occasion no peroperty has been stolen and access has only been gained to two of the properties.

PC Simon Ashley said: "Each incident is being thoroughly investigated but your help is needed. Please report any suspicious activity to police, no matter how trivial you may think it could be."
