Surfing in the Gogo during the storm?
Residents were confronted with a bizarre scene during Tuesday's storm in Largs.
It was certainly unusual at Mackerston and at Gogo Street as the sight of surfboards, believed to have possibly originated from the Cumbrae Watersports Centre, confronted locals. The boards were believed to have been washed up along the prom and surrounding area.
Resident Eleanor Barclay, who took the photo, said: "They were there for most of the morning until someone came and took them away. Here at the bottom of Gogo Street we always get the worst of the weather. I couldn't believe my eyes!"
"News" correspondent Alison Masterson said: "Inverkip Pavilion has been wrecked, the roof torn off and the building partially collapsed. Scots pine trees came crashing down in Eglinton Terrace in Skelmorlie blocking the road."
On our facebook site, Marjory Scollin Brown of Largs said: "The waves were as high as Vanduara at dawn. Who knows what they were like at 7am as it was too dark to see then but the wind was ferocious!"
