A fantasy novel for children written by tv presenter and actor John Barrowman features Greater and Lesser Cumbrae throughout its narrative.

The book is described as 'Scottish Harry Potter style' and is released on Thursday, 2 February and includes Largs landmark The Pencil, as well as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery.

TV star John, 44, and his sister Carole, have written "Hollow Earth" together.
