Speeding on the A78 through Skelmorlie is constantly raised with Largs Police as a recurrent problem.
Inspector Joe Conway highlighted that officers have charged a 28 year old man with driving in excess of 50mph in a 30 limit through the village.
The driver was also charged with not having a valid driving licence or insurance after he was stopped at Shore Road at 7.25pm on Tuesday 5 April.
Inspector Conway said: "We get regular calls from Skelmorlie residents about people speeding, and while there have been no accidents in the area, it is important this is higlighted for the attention of motorists."
