A Skelmorlie woman who has Crohns disease has been overwhelmed by the support for her charity event in the village on Saturday 27 August.
Wilma Little, and her friend Lynn Eadie, are hosting a charity fun day for Crohns Colitis UK Clyde group.
Lynn and Wilma, who are barmaids in Eglinton Bar have been amazed at the show of support from businesses and organisations.
Wilma said: "Local people and businesses from Glasgow to Largs have been amazing.
"We have also support from Celtic, Rangers, and Morton football club who have all donated to our raffle. Businesses who have supported the day include PB Wrights , McConneghys, Tattoo Heaven, Cafe Balfi, Cardwell Garden Centre, Lewis Roofing, Sainsbury, Inverkip Hotel, Cafe Riva. Pearsons Garage, Skelmorlie Golf Club, Brian Spence chemist, Premier Shop, Skelmorlie, A H Mackie, Haylie House Hotel, Nardinis and Funworld.
"I would like to thank everyone so far, and donations are still pouring in."
The programme of events are as follows: 3pm : Ladies meet and greet at Eggie – Glass of Prosecco and Nibbles. Various stalls and games in pub. Gents meet at football park for 5-a-side and beat the goalie. Pies and beer served. 6pm : Darts Competition for Gents and Ladies 7.30pm: Presentation of trophies and part 1 of raffle 8pm Live entertainment – Skelmorlie Skanks 9.30pm Break – Part 2 of raffle final total raised will be announced, 10pm Skelmorlie Skanks till late.
Ladies stalls at 'Eggie Stalls' will include: Avon, Bath bombs, Cupcakes, Jewellery, Angel Paws , Hook a duck, Nicola Nick Nacks, Sweetie Cart, Decorated Glasses, Bottle Stall, Face painting, DVD stall and more! The first glass of Prosceco comes free with ticket, thereafter £1 a glass till it’s gone. Ticket for entry will be £3 which will also give you a chance in the ‘special’ prize draw.
Gents at Football Park Football teams will consist of 5 players, each team will be made up on the day by a draw. First pie and a beer free with ticket after which a donation in bucket may get you ‘ Tipsy’. Tickets will be £3 which will also enter you in a prize draw. Tickets can be purchased by spectators also.
Evening at the Eggie Raffle: Drawn in two stages because of volume of prizes. Total amount raised will hopefully be announced after completion. Special Prize Draw: Tickets at £5 each for entry to ‘Special Prize Draw’. A chance to win one of FIVE fabulous prizes. Sheet on wall in the 'Eggie', pay behind the bar. Darts: Donation in bucket for entry. Bottle of spirits and a trophy for the ‘Champion’. A draw will be made after entrants all in and it will be a 301 straight in, double to finish game on a knockout basis.
