Lest We Forget ... There are armistice events happening throughout the district this weekend.

The Royal British Legion Scotland Largs branch members will cast a wreath from the 11.00 am Cal-Mac ferry between Largs and Cumbrae on Friday to honour all service personnel lost at sea.
The Royal British Legion Scotland Largs Branch's Remembrance Day parade takes place on Sunday 13 November, meeting in Crawford Street at 10.15am prompt.
The parade leaves at 10.20am to St. Columba’s Parish Church, Gallowgate Street, Largs for the Service beginning at 10.50am, thereafter to the War Memorial for a short service and wreath laying.
And on Millport, on Friday 11 November, the Royal British Legion are having a parade to mark Remembrance Day, starting at the Legion Rooms at 10.45am for a short march to the War Memorial for a short act of Remembrance, and two minute silence. On Sunday 13 November, the Legion will be assembling at the top of Cardiff Street at 10.30am, marching off at 10.45am to the War Memorial for a wreath laying ceremony. A full turnout of Branch, Associate, family members and friends would be appreciated on these important days.
Both Inverkip and Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Churches will hold their Armistice Day Services on Sunday. Inverkip Service will commence at 10.50am.
There will be a Parade of Uniformed Organisations to the war memorial with a short service and they laying of wreaths. Inverkip will have a retiring collection in aid of Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Church will donate to the Poppy Scotland Appeal.
The Fairlie Remembrance Service at the Parish Church begins at 9.45am on Sunday, and the West Kilbride Remembrance Sunday service and Junior Church begins at 10.30am.
