International Space Station sightings -  There are several passes of the ISS in the evening throughout the first half of February.

The brightest of these are on 5 February at 19:25, 6 February at 18:33 and 7 February at 19:17.

The ISS appears as a bright point of light moving low in the sky from south-west to south-east.

And on Wednesday 8 February – “THE VOYAGER MISSIONS” – John Pressley from the Coats Observatory, Paisley returns to Skelmorlie Community Centre to give a talk on the epic interstellar journeys within our solar system and beyond which have been ongoing since 1977.

This is one of the lectures at the Spring Session of the WEA (Workers’ Educational Association).

The WEA meet weekly on Wednesday mornings in the Reading Room above the Library in Skelmorlie Community Centre in Upper Skelmorlie, which is easily accessible by bus (the stop is at the front door) and there is a large car park close by. Teas and coffees are available from 9.30am with talks starting at 10.00am until 11am to 11.30am at the latest.

Anyone can come along to whatever talks appeal to you and there is a nominal charge per talk to cover our costs and the option to become a member of the WEA, a registered charity, and benefit from a wide range of classes and talks provided by the local association covering the west of Scotland.
