There were power problems for people in some streets on Skelmorlie last Wednesday afternoon.

Scottish Power issued a statement as some properties within the Innes Park Road and Skelmorlie Castle Road areas suffered from no electricity from the afternoon, and for the rest of the day.

At 2.55pm, Scottish Power said: "We apologise for the continued interruption of supply in the PA postcode affecting Innes Park Drive and surrounding streets. We now expect your power to be restored by midnight.

"Our emergency response team has attended the local substations and established we have a fault on one of our underground cables. Our specialist cable repair team are now on site at Sandybrae to carry out repairs to restore your supply. Thank you for your patience."

One resident stated: " I just called them as power went off and back on they said this will likely happen until they fix cable underground their outside my property ready to start digging up."

Some houses had their power restored by 4pm, while others continued to experience problems into the evening until around 10pm.
