An exhibition of distinguished Skelmorlie artist's work is taking place in the University of Glasgow Memorial Chapel later this month.
Dugald Cameron, who is former Director of The Glasgow School of Art, has provided artwork for Wings to War - Glasgow and the Centenary of the Royal Air Force exhibition.
The histories of the RAF and the University and City of Glasgow over the last century are closely intertwined. The University’s aerospace engineers today maintain the University’s tradition of contributing strongly to leading-edge technological development which dates back through the founding of what was the world’s first engineering faculty.
Students who played leading parts in the story include Lieutenant-General Sir David Henderson, commanding officer of the Royal Flying Corps on the Western Front and who is seen by many as the Founding Father of the RAF.
