Vehicle-activated speed limit and speed advisory signs have been launched along the A78 through Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay this week to get drivers to slow down.
Resident Greg Beecroft is delighted to see the new speed deterrents.
He said: "The extent of the speeding problem is that there are rather more of them than is the case in most communities. Additional road markings, at the south of Skelmorlie, have still to be applied.
"Residents were advised by Police Scotland that work was to be carried out in summer 2016, but there were repeated delays. The signs all went up a week after Kenneth Gibson MSP wrote to the Chief Executive of Transport Scotland asking that construction begins as soon as possible."
