Skelmorlie residents are going 'potty' over their cracked up roads, while street light problems have recurred once more in the village.
Resident Edward McAulay contacted the 'News' regarding the 'dangerous' condition of Skelmorlie Castle Road.
In a letter to NAC, Mr McAulay said: "Due to numerous utility companies carrying out work and making attempts to fill in the road after them, the condition of the road has deteriorated to a point that there are a number of deep and dangerous potholes on the way down to Shore Road.
"In the car these potholes and poor repairs are difficult enough to avoid and indeed trying to drive through them could cause serious damage to a car but as I commute mainly by motorcycle I found it extremely dangerous to the point that not only could they cause serious damage to my motorcycle but as the potholes are so deep and numerous and the overall condition of the road is deplorable, it could cause serious injury to myself if I were to attempt to drive through them. I have had to cross to the other side of the road to try and avoid them almost colliding with oncoming traffic.
"Also, may I suggest that when a utility company finishes working on the road, the council send out a representative to assess the quality of the road and ensure that it meets councils standards before signing off the work.

"I’m sure the people of Skelmorlie would appreciate North Ayrshire Council Roads Department making a concerted effort to carry the appropriate road repair and to the appropriate quality."
He has been backed by Independent councillor Ian Murdoch who said: " I am concerned at the condition of the road and I have reported it to our roads department."
A spokesperson for the council roads dept. said: “The prolonged period of wet and cold weather has caused significant damage to the roads network across Scotland and we are still currently addressing local issues as a matter of priority.
“Following reports from local residents, our roads team carried out an inspection of the road condition at Skelmorlie Castle Road earlier this week. Repair works have been programmed to address the faults found and are expected to get underway within the next week."
There have also been street lighting problem at The Lane, Skelmorlie Castle Road and Long Hill in Skelmorlie.
NAC state that they are aware of an issue with some lighting in Skelmorlie and believe this is related to an underground electrical supply which is operated by Scottish Power.
When the 'News' brought the matter to the council's attention earlier this month, a spokesman said:“Although this matter is outwith our control, we are continuing to assist Scottish Power wherever possible and have been in regular contact with the company regarding this issue.
“We have been informed that their engineers attended the fault on Thursday (12 April) with the majority of the supply network being restored to full operation. However, Scottish Power's engineers were unable to clear the fault from The Lane and Long Hill and have scheduled a further visit by their repair team early this week."
However, this week Mr McAulay said: "Despite my email from almost two weeks regarding the dangerous condition of Skelmorlie Castle Road, no-one from the council has contacted me. In addition, nothing has been done to the road, it is still in a very dangerous condition and again as is the case every morning I find myself having to use the other side of the road to avoid the potholes.
"I’m sure North Ayrshire Council will do the right thing and repair the damage to the road before there is a serious accident."
