This week, the retailer is offering up to 30% off everything in store, news which will be welcomed by toy-lovers across the land.

Steve Knights, managing director of Toys R Us UK, said: “The vote in favour of the CVA represents strong support for our business plan and provides us with the platform we need to transform our business so that we can better serve our customers today and long into the future.”

All stores across the UK will remain open for business until spring 2018.

The toy retailer said it ha started consultations with employees.

CVA proposals were launched on Monday, December 4 and approved by 98% of the company's creditors that week.
