Lift Problem

The lift at the Station in Inverkip seems to have been out of action again. Residents with prams who use it to cross to Station Avenue are having difficulty and have asked the Community Council if a ramp could be provided to avoid the problem of access when lift is out of action. The community council have contacted the appropriate authorities regarding the problem.

Community Council

Inverkip and Wemyss Bay community council have documented areas in Inverkip that they feel the council’s attention should be drawn to. Those responsible for areas in the village is a thorny question, the recent questions regarding one play area come to mind. The photographs have been sent to the council and their reply is awaited. Broken pavements, overgrown verges, broken fences at the cemetery were some of the areas highlighted.

Scouts

The group of scouts have returned home from a busy week of activities. Thanks must go to those who organise the trips like these and give up their time to take the members away.

Golfing

Local boy John Jack who is 13 years of age has been chosen by Scottish Golf to play for Visit Scotland team in the Scottish Open Pro Am. Well done to him.

Hub Activities

The Hub have been holding activities for the younger age group. Scooter Fitness for 3-5 year old was one of them.

Wemyss Bay

The community centre will start their Rugby Tots activity on 13th August.

Road Works

The work on the A78 at Inverkip has started. There is overnight closure as reported last week. So far the work seems to be the removal of a small strip of turf on each side of the road.
