A public meeting is taking place in West Kilbride Village Hall on Wednesday 19 October at 7pm to discuss the revised traffic management plans.
The hall will open at 6pm to give the public the opportunity to see the plans and ask questions to the council officer.
Cllr. McLardy has stated that the purpose behind the meeting is that the plans have changed since they were on display in the library earlier this year, and a number of residents and traders are unaware.
She added: "The changes will mean that there will be four buses going past the Portencross Road access area to the school every hour. There is also the sports facility with football at the astroturf. At present, no bus passes the entrance to the primary school.
"A lot of people don't know that these plans have now changed. Only 70 people out of a total of 5000 people responded to the recent consultation at West Kilbride Library, and I have contacted a number of residents and traders to discover that they didn't know a thing about it, so I think that it is only right that we make as many people as possible aware of what is happening."
The proposal includes a one way operation east to west along Main Street, Ritchie Street, and also south to north along part of Well Street.
In addition, footway improvements will also be carried out at Main Street.
The council stated that the new plan would enable traffic to move safely along Main Street, Ritchie Street and Well Street, avoiding conflict with vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.
There will be additional on street parking at various points along Main Street and Ritchie Street 'to reflect local demand', and additional disabled parking places near the doctor's surgery.
The existing one way operation in Halfway Street, Arthur Street, Gateside Street, Cubrieshaw Street and part of Main Street will remain unchanged.
Inproved footway provision outside the Barony Centre and Tavern pub, and the introduction of a 20mph limit in Main Street and Ritchie Street.
There will also be an introduction of traffic calming measures outside the primary school which could control the vehicle speed, and alteration to bus routing meaning that service buses would no longer require to use Yerton Brae.
The X737 bus will travel from the A78 into Portencross Road, St Brides Road, Main Street, Ritchie Street, Well Street, Corse Street, Portencross Road to rejoin the A78.
The 585 Northbound - A78 into Portencross Road, St Brides Road, Main Street, Ritchie Street, Well Street, Corse Street, Portencross Road, St Brides Road, Cubrieshaw Street, Meadowfoot Road, Lawfield Avenue, Meadowfoot Road, Cubrieshaw Street, St Brides Road and then into the B782.
The 585 Southbound - B782 into St Brides Road, Cubrieshaw Street, Meadowfoot Road, Lawfield Avenue, Meadowfoot Road, Main Street, Ritchie Street, Well Street, Corse Street, Portencross Road to join the A78.
A further consequence is the bus service will no longer require to travel up Hunterston Road, and the proposal to make this area one-way has been dropped.
