EMERGENCY services attended a road accident involving two cars on the shore road from Seamill to Ardrossan on Monday evening.

The A78 north of the town was closed following the collison, which occurred at 5.20pm tonight (Monday, November 20).

Police, fire and ambulance services are in attendance at the scene, near the acces road to Loup Cottage, just past the bypass roundabout.

It is believed both drivers are conscious but no further details have been released.

Cars and buses were being turned back and it is believed the road may be closed for some time.

The road re-opened at approximately 9.25pm.
