West Kilbride man Scott McLean headed to DisneyWorld to embark in a unique running challenge in memory of his father and uncle, and raise funds for Ayrshire Hospice.
The 37 year old took part in four races over four days - 5k, 10k, half marathon and then a full marathon in Disney World Florida where the McLean family spent many happy holidays.
Scott, who is an international greenkeeper on the European Golf Tour, said: “I felt the challenge was very appropriate in memory of my dad Peter as Disney World in Florida was his favourite place. I was also running the event in memory of my uncle Alex McLean of Largs.
“When both my dad and uncle were very ill the Ayrshire Hospice made them very comfortable and helped the whole family so much through a very difficult time.”

Scott said: “ I finished 51st out of 8000 people who took part in the full challenge. Part of the run was when you came under Cinderella’s Castle and into a theme par, the Animal Kingdom and the MGM studios.”
Scott was accompanied by mum Josie who provided support from the sidelines in the 78km challenge.
