This Saturday is a huge day for Neil Monaghan (13) from West Kilbride for he will be part of the Guard of Honour that escorts the Scotland Rugby team onto the field at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park for the first ever rugby international played in Ayrshire.
Neil is in S2 at Largs Academy, and plays regularly for Ardrossan Accies S1/2 team and admitted to being “very excited” about being involved in the Scotland v Tonga match along with other youngsters from rugby clubs across Ayrshire.
Neil will also have his own “supporters” in the Rugby Park crowd because over 200 youngsters, parents, grandparents and friends will be heading for the match in a fleet of buses that will leave Memorial Field, Sorbie Road, Ardrossan at around 1pm.
