The West Kilbride Village Band has been playing for more than two years. It began with ten players, ranging from professional to enthusiastic amateur musicians. They are now 25 in number, and meet weekly to play together.

Caroline Le Good Morgan, who is a member, said: “We have, to date, performed three formal concerts in the village and have played at Yuletide events. Some of our members perform in smaller groups at local events and in the West Kilbride library. We are now rehearsing for a fourth concert in May.

“Our music ranges from classical and film scores to traditional and is chosen to suit all abilities.

“We have a healthy brass and wind section and are currently looking for more string and percussion players.

“We meet in the Barony Centre on Monday evenings from 7.15 to 9.30 and would warmly welcome new members including beginners.” The Village Band are pictured performing at a garden party event at Portencross. Pictures by Caroline Le Good Morgan.
