ReGARDING "Poo-on-my-shoe" a medal for those who are fighting a losing battle. Theirs was a brave attempt.

One would imagine that the local authority figures would be supportive of this campaign, instead they are helping to defeat brave, decent citizens (lifeguards pouring kettles of water on drowning heads!).

How so?

Walking through West Kilbride park area, there is enough evidence of a dereliction of duty by the local elected "burghers." Dog "poo-bags" festoon overflowing collection baskets, a repeating offence.

I noticed school kids lobbing these at each other, using twigs. For any parents, grandparents, hoping for relaxed fun in the lovingly tended lawns, there will be more than shoes be-spattered with dog sh! Dog-walkers take the bother, campaigners take the bother, local "burghers" cant be bothered!

History? Earlier in the season, it seemed there was a surplus of council dog-poo bags. To "use these up", they were put into the general-litter baskets. Yes, far too small!

Obviously, far too small! In fact useless! The little cascaded all over those areas because the little bags could not be fully opened at the mouth. At that point in time, the actual "doggy baskets" were piled high with carefully deposited "poo-bags." But hey, now there are not enough black bags for the doggy-business; they have all been "used up" for the other exercise in futility! Well done you "burghers"!

Today? The "doggy baskets" are stacked high again; poo bags create an imitation "rock-garden" around the spot, and the "general litter" baskets have no black bags.

What to do? Well I could try calming down, have a seat, high-perched on that gifted seat still waiting to be embedded since last year.

No! I"ll wait for the door-to-door collection towards medals for those gallant campaigners. They have my sympathy and admiration. Perhaps a "delivery service", of this offending material, to the offices of the said "burghers", would smarten-up those "burghers"; make them recognise their duty to work with people, rather than work against them.
