Re the story concerning the Viking Festival meeting 'chaos', I would like to take issue with Mrs Marshall regarding her claims that the problems at the meeting 'emanated from Largs Community Council'.

Frankly, I am perplexed as to Mrs Marshall"s stance on this matter and her subsequent statement to the News, as, according to the minutes and attendance register for this meeting, only one person attended, claiming to be representing Largs Community Council.

That person was her husband Tom Marshall. In fact, the community council had not discussed or requested any member to attend, but Tom Marshall saw fit to sign in as representing Largs Community Council. Surely Mrs Marshall should have sorted out this row across her breakfast table if she felt that the problems had been caused by her husband Tom?

Another three members who currently serve on Largs Community Council were in attendance at that meeting. One is a member of the Viking Committee. The two others who attended, clearly signed in as individuals, neither representing the Community Council nor any other established body, they were there as concerned citizens of the town of Largs.

Although not authorised to speak on behalf of Largs Community Council, I am certain that LCC will forgive Mrs Marshall for her 'oversight' and hope she will check facts in future before apportioning blame.
