"Hi Im from Brisbane Australia. It is fantastic to see this footage of the Brisbane Queen festival 1970 celebrations. But also sad to hear that this years competition has been cancelled due to lack of interest. I understand that the Queens' regalia was given to the city of largs by the Queensland government as we have a shared history with Largs as our city's namesake was a celebrated son of Largs. I would love to hear more of the the Brisbane Queen festival history or anything about it that anyone from Largs would like to share. I work at Brisbane City Hall, where the door from Sir Thomas Brisbane's former home hangs proudly, a gift from the city of Largs in the 50's. Regards "
