Just over 750 years ago Largs was invaded by Vikings from Norway, and next year it will be time for Colts from Largs to return the favour!

Largs Colts 2002 will represent Youth Football Scotland at The Norway Cup in Oslo in August 2016.

The Norway Cup is the largest football tournament in the world with around 1500 teams taking part each year in various age categories.

For the 2016 tournament Youth Football Scotland were looking for suitable ambassadors to represent Scotland at the tournament and Largs Colts 2002 are delighted to be amongst 16 teams from Scotland that will make the journey to Oslo.

The tournament has major media coverage with 50-60 countries taking part and, as well as around 900 media representatives, matches are also covered live on Norway's main sports channel.

Youth Football Scotland will have their own media representatives at the event providing reports back to those interested in following the progress. Colts will also provide live Twitter coverage of the matches as they do in domestic competitions. The week-long event focuses on friendship and memories with Largs Colts planning to take a large squad to bond further and to have fun. The event clearly has a competitive side and Colts will look to strike the balance between competing and ensuring everyone is involved throughout the prestigious tournament.

As Colts are representing Youth Football Scotland specially commissioned Scotland strips will be provided to every member of the squad. Colts are currently seeking major sponsors specifically for the Norway Cup to help the club provide new equipment and to help discount the costs associated with such an event. Fundraising events are also planned next year to support the boys on a trip of a lifetime.
