Largs manager Bryan Slavin has issued a battle-cry to players and supporters to rally round in the push for the championship.

Thistle face the short journey to Scottish Cup beaten semi-finalists Kilwinning on Wednesday, 6.45pm kick-off, and then travel to Holm Park to play Clydebank on Saturday, 2pm kick-off.

Bryan said: "These couple of games could put us on the cusp of the league championship. The coming fixtures could define our season, and we are in a good position, and should take confidence from all the work we have done to get us into top position. If you look at it like a 400m race, we are three quarters of the way there round the track, and we are now moving onto the final bend for the sprint finish, and it is all about getting your head down and kicking as hard as you can to the line, even if you don't have much energy left, it is all about working our socks off, getting in around about them, and they will make mistakes, and we can capitalise."

"Sometimes there is a bit of nervousness and a bit of fear for players who have not being over the course before, and that is only natural, but Clydebank,  Cumnock and Kilwinning are in the position of they are having to play catch-up to us. Some players play exceptionally well under that pressure, and it is about using that pressure, and turning it into a positive. These other teams are feeling the same, and we have been trying to impress that upon the players.

And the Thistle manager urged supporters to keep cheering on the team, and said: "A big turnout gives you an extra lift and helps give the players an extra few percent.
"It is like going into the middle of a coliseum and thousands of Romans are baying for your blood, and you are fighting a lion. It is good to know that there are a lot of people behind you, and it makes all the difference.
"For the players, it is just a matter of keeping doing what we have been asking of them all season, work hard and get into peoples' faces, and do the basic things."
