Largs have moved for another top player with Premiership experience to Barrfields Park but say goodbye to forward Gary Phillips.
Hot on the heels of signing goalscorer Robert Love from Auchinleck, Thistle have moved for left midfielder Mathew Bennett who featured for Kilbirnie Ladeside last season.
Thistle are playing their second home friendly fixture on Monday at home to St Mirren U20s on Monday at 7.30pm. Larry McMahon scored Thistle's first goal of the pre-season on Saturday as Largs were held to a 1-1 draw against Fauldhouse United at Barrfields Park.
Assistant boss Stuart Davidson said: "Matt is a big and fit strong boy, with a good left foot, and he will provide us with attacking options. He is also good in the air, and could be a goal threat as well."
The left midfielder has been brought in to replace silky winger Gary Phillips, who moves back to senior football with Arbroath. Gary returned to Largs for a second spell at the club last season, after featuring for Albion Rovers for two seasons.
Largs have also got another keeper training with them who has experience at Greenock, Port Glasgow and Yoker, as Thistle look to fill the berth of Daryl Matthews who is not re-signing. Thistle are still on the look-out for another striker, and Stuart told the 'News' he is still hoping to make some "big signings" before the season begins in earnest.

The Thistle players signed so far are: Ross Lundy, Alan Gilbride, Ciaran Friels, Alan Gilbride, Creag Little, Gary Fleming, Jamie McDonald, Matt Bennett, Kevin Struthers, Larry McMahon, James Marks, and Robert Love.
The players who are released are Alan Frizzell who has moved to Clydebank, Graham Muir and Mark Murray who have moved to Irvine Meadow, and Sean Pierce.

Midfielder Glenn Thomson featured on Saturday for Largs and is hoping to win a new contract.

Largs Thistle round off their friendly fixture season programme with two more friendlies in the space of three days - Morton U20s at Barrfields on Thursday 28 July, and away to Jeanfield Swifts on Saturday 30 July. The opening game of the Ardagh Cup group section comes at home to Kilwinning Rangers on Saturday 6 August.
Stuart said: We play St Mirren U20s on Monday, and that will be a test, the young boys will be in full time training, so that will be a good one for us to get our fitness levels up. These will be hard games, and I won't be looking too much into the final results."
