Cambuslang Thistle U19’s 1 Largs Thistle U19s 3

Thistle U19s carried on their unbeaten league record with an impressive win at Coatbridge against Cambuslang Thistle U19s.
Thistle had various chances on goal by the skilful Jay Little who was controlling midfield well, and he forced the goalkeeper into making several good saves, including an excellent curling free kick which looked net bound before the keeper tipped it away.
Largs goalkeeper Murray had a couple of saves to make to keep the score level at half time.
Jay Little played in a fine through ball to Jack Rafferty who nearly scored.
Thistle U19s then brought on sub Cesur Chakar who brought fresh legs and presence to the attack. The first goal came from a direct free kick outside the box which was bulleted into the net by Jay Little giving the keeper no chance, what a goal! Cambuslang then came close to scoring but defender Lewis Gardiner cleared it off the line.
Largs' second goal came when the industrious Adam Paterson-McKeen’s shot was saved off of the keeper’s face. The ball then came out to Jack Rafferty who chipped it back across the goalmouth and super-sub Cesur Chakar headed home.
Cambuslang then went up the park and scored with a shot that the Largs keeper should have done better with to make it 2-1. The third goal was the best of the three when Jay Little dribbled past three defenders and shot powerfully into the net.
A hard fought victory against a very physical Cambuslang team, special mention must go to the players who were forced to play out of position but did all that was asked of them and more. Great to see all the boys roll their sleeves up and battle for each other and the team.
