Largs Thistle U19s 7 Glasgow East U19’s 0

It was the 'return of the magnificent seven' for Thistle U19s as they hit the same tally for the second time this season to carry on their table topping form.

Largs welcomed Glasgow East U19’s sitting fourth in the Paisley, Johnstone and District third division league on Saturday.

Thistle were quick on the attack at Bowen Craig with Jack Petrie providing an excellent pass to Jack Rafferty whose shot beat the opposition goalkeeper to put Thistle one up in the first ten minutes. Next up it was Jay Little who drove forward from midfield and saw his shot go just over. The second goal was well made by an excellent pass from Lloyd Dicks to Caleb Reid who shot beat to beat the goalkeeper 2-0.

At the other end Largs goalkeeper Callum Murray had to make a double save as the Glasgow team pushed forward to try to get back into the game.

Thistle had various chances by Jay Little and the return of influential Captain Adam Paterson McKeen who both were controlling midfield well, with their defensive duties and driving forward runs. Goal number three came from a great pass by Jack Rafferty to Lloyd Dicks out on the right hand side and his powerful diagonal shot flew passed the goalkeeper,3-0 Thistle.

Largs were now well in control of the game and started to play some nice passing football resulting in a goal from Adam P McKeen heading in a cross from Ethan Reid 4-0. Thistle were clearly enjoying their football and the fifth goal came from good team build up with Lloyd Dicks playing in Caleb Reid and the big striker made no mistake scoring to make it 5-0.

His tireless running was rewarded by continually keeping the pressure on the Glasgow defence and his persistence paid off by forcing the keeper to make a mistake for a tap in to earn him a fine hat trick and make it 6-0 at half-time.

Thistle brought on all their substitutes in the second half and all made valuable contributions to the team, with Ryan Evans hitting the bar and coming close to scoring on several occasions.

Jay Little was also unlucky not to score seeing his shot hit the post. Credit to the Glasgow team for not giving up and indeed forced the Largs keeper Murray into tipping the ball over the bar to keep a clean sheet.

The last goal came from who else but “Super-sub” Cesur Chakar who scored yet again with a header to make the final score 7-0 Thistle. This was an excellent performance from the whole Thistle team showing great determination and positive attitude, both in scoring goals and excellent defending. Keep it up boys.
