Thistle boss Stuart Davidson is relishing the return to his former team Auchinleck, but believes Thistle can upset the odds and get a famous win if the players show the right effort and desire.
There will be little sentimentality from the manager, well known as 'Arnie' for terminating the opposition with his top tackling, and now he is on the quest to try and beat Talbot, and there is nobody better who knows what makes Talbot tick.
It is a 2pm kick-off at Beechwood Park.
Arnie said: "The fact that it is Auchinleck and I enjoyed many happy years there is something special, and it will be good to see some of the old faces, but at the end of the day, they are another team that we desperately want to get points off.
"There won't be too much sentiment as much as I have great respect for the club - it is all about the game for me."
Thistle still have injuries to key players including Gary Fleming with a broken toe, and Nicky Jamieson with a back injury,
Arnie added: "It is hard to find any weaknesses in Auchinleck - they have been the best team around for ten years, but first and foremost we need to be competitive, and try and match Talbot and limit their chances.
"We were great defensively at Hurlford and Kilwinning, and we weren't a million miles away against Rob Roy or Kilwinning, so maybe we are getting a bit closer, and I feel we are due a big scalp. It would be great for it to happen on Saturday as we could be really doing with the points."
"The battle cry for this Saturday is we are looking for passion and commitment - that is what is needed to get something against Talbot.
" I feel the boys have it in them and we are not going there and freezing - it is important for all of us to stand up for the challenge."
