Largs Thistle U16s are looking forward to the Central YFL 16s League Cup final against Auchinleck Talbot F.C, date still to be arranged.
‘News’ photographer Charlie Gilmour headed along to photograph the boys during a recent training session at Barrfields Park last Tuesday, and the feel good factor was evident for everyone to see. It is another sign of progress for the Largs Thistle community club set-up.
So much so, Thistle managed a 5-1 win over Caledonian at the weekend.
And Ally has given full credit to the boys for their recent strong showings, and urged them to keep up their excellent form, with Auchinleck in the offing.
Ally said: “Auchinleck are top of our league at the moment, so we know it will be tough, but the players did really well today, and we are looking forward to the cup final.”
Ally added that the boys seeing some of the U19 players stepping up to the senior squad in recent months has been a source of inspiration, as it shows to them a clear line of progression. Largs AFC amateurs also play in the community club as of this season.
The Largs Thistle community club set-up includes U19s, U17s, U16s and U14s, operating out of the Barrfields 3G all weather pitch and stadium.
