All eyes will be on Abbey Park, Kilwinning this Saturday as Largs hope Pollok can do them a favour and get a result against the Buffs.
Thistle’s Premier survival is still intact after Kilwinning blew a one goal lead at Arthurlie last weekend to lose 3-1.
Kilwinning need one victory from their last two games to secure a play-off spot.
A few weeks ago it seemed very unlikely that Largs could escape relegation, but a course of results in recent weeks have gone their way, and Largs have had a habit of some great survival tales over the years.
Both Largs and Kilwinning sit on 18 points, but Buffs have a superior goal difference, while Troon are sitting on 16 points with two games left, and visit Talbot on Saturday.
Whatever happens, Thistle are concentrating on winning their last game of the season against Auchinleck (date- TBA).
Manager Stuart Davidson said: “It would be great to go into the Talbot game with something to play for. Given the start to the season we had, we could have been relegated a long time ago, and not a lot of people would have given us a chance of going into our last game with the opportunity to stay in the league.
“Kilwinning play Pollok and on their day Buffs can beat anyone but Pollok are in the West of Scotland Cup final, so you just don’t know. Troon play Auchinleck and were a couple of goals up on them a few weeks ago before losing 5-3.
“It is interesting that all three teams in the relegation area have Talbot to play, and I fully expect one of us to get a victory. We must be ready to take advantage if there are any slip-ups.”
