Thistle's final fixture date has been announced .. but Largs boss 'Arnie' is unhappy at extended wait leaving the Barrfields side in limbo.

Largs Thistle will finally play their final league fixture on Monday June 12 - but have been made to wait.

The Barrfields side played their penultimate McBookie.com Premier Division fixture away to Beith in a 3-2 reversal away back on 15 April.

Largs play Scottish Cup finalists Auchinleck in the last game of the season next month.

The game is essentially now meaningless as Largs were confirmed as relegated as Kilwinning were able to fulfill their final fixture against Talbot last Monday, and recorded a 2-0 win.

Thistle boss Stuart Davidson, a.k.a Arnie, told the 'News': "It will be practically two months between our last two league games, and once we finally get round to playing Auchinleck, it is only a few weeks until pre-season. It is really disrupting our plans. People might say we didn't get a lot of games out of the cups, but at the end of the day that is nothing to do with the league fixtures.

"It really isn't good enough to endure such a long wait for a semi professional football league. People are going to have to sit round a table and look at it.

"There is talk of league reconstruction next season and having 30 league games instead of 22 in the Premier or 26 in the First Division, but what chance have you got if we can't even complete 22 games?"
