Largs Thistle boss Stuart Davidson is pleased with the club’s start to the season, but believes his refreshed squad face the ultimate test versus Beith on Wednesday evening, 6.45pm kick-off at Barrfields Park.
Beith have also strengthened in pre-season, and have arguably been the top team in not just North Ayrshire, but in Scotland during recent seasons after winning the Scottish in 2016, which included Thistle wing-back Iain Fisher.
Stuart said: “I am delighted with the start we have made so far. We got a good result and a decent performance against Kilbirnie. We keep saying to the boys that each game is a bigger test and it certainly applies to Beith.
“We have made a decent start in the friendlies and the Ardagh Cup wins, but against a team like Beith with quality right throughout the whole squad, this will be a real test of us, and will tell us whereabouts we really are heading into the new season.”
