Dalry 0 Largs Thistle 3

New signing Joel Kasubandi set Thistle on their way against Dalry with an impressive curling strike from outside the box on only six minutes.

The former Clydebank striker missed the pre-season with an achilles injury and has been provider of some important goals already in the Ardagh Cup campaign.

And he brought some magic to Merksworth Park with a stunning opener on Saturday.

Boss Stuart Davidson said: "That is what you will get from Joel. We see that at training and he is a good finisher, and it is great to see him get his first competitive goal. He has been a wee bit unlucky with injury and has been working hard to get fit and we have not see the best of Joel and will see best of him when he gets up to speed and see the quality he has got."

The gaffer was pleased with his side's effort in overcoming a hardworking Dalry outfit on Saturday

He had warned his side before the encounter that district side Dalry would be well organised and so it proved to be the case.

Stuart said: "They have made a couple of good signings and caused problems at times. We defended well, and seem to score our goals at right time.

"It was a hard game and we had to work for it."

Largs left it late to add their second goal on 79 minutes as sub Graham Muir made the run from midfield down the left and connected well with a cross from Scott Adam.

And Adam completed the scoring for Thistle with a good diagonal finish following some great play from Iain Fisher who sped up the park and put over a dangerous cross.

Largs: Graham, Ashe, McVey, Little, Jamieson, Fleming, Orr, Burden, Adam, Kasubandi, McMaster. Subs: Muir, Fisher, Lundy (GK), trialists.
