Largs Thistle boss Stuart Davidson has said he is setting his side up for a win in Wednesday evening's big Ardagh Cup clash against Kilwinning.

It is a 6.45pm kick off on Wednesday evening at Abbey Park. Both sides are unbeaten heading into the fifth and final clash of the Ardagh Cup group stages.

If Largs win, they are guaranteed to top the group and progress. A draw means that it will come down to goal difference between Largs and Beith, should they beat Kilbirnie.

Thistle boss Stuart Davidson commented: “Win against Kilwinning and we are through - it is as simple as that. We are going into the game looking for a win. We are up against another top quality side and it is another test before the league begins.

"It will be a tough test as Kilwinning have made some good signings, but it will prepare us well for when the league season begins.”

Stephen Burden was taken off against Dalry with a niggle, and was substituted as a precaution. Ryan McKie and Jamie Campbell were training on Monday night and are now available for selection after recent injuries.

Stuart has praised his backroom team who have helped him re-build for this season: “My assistant Martin Crawford has been great, and a massive asset with his experience and attention to knowledge, and has a vast knowledge of the game.
“Liam McVey has been more of a playing influence and his experience and calm head has been a real help. Andy Scott, and our physio Valentina, have been great. Andy has been fantastic down at training and helping me, and Valentina has been taking care of all the boys and their niggles. They have all played their part, and it has made a massive difference.”
