Look out your running shoes for this weekend!

The North Ayrshire Athletics Club is hosting its annual 10k on Sunday and is eager for runners from the Largs area to take part.

Registration this year will be held in the marquee located in the centre of the Athletics Track at St Matthews Academy, Saltcoats. Registration opens at 9am and will close at 10.45 so leave plenty of time in case it gets busy. Please note to avoid congestion only runners will be allowed into the in field registration area.

There is plenty of free parking at St Matthew’s academy, as an over spill Ardrossan Academy can also be used.

Spokesman John Stewart said: "The race starts at 11am. We will have signs indicating estimated finish times at the start to assist runners in running at their preferred pace. Please try your best to start from the correct time, the start will be staggered but don't worry your time won't start till you pass the electronic mats at the start line.

"The results will posted on the the NAAC10k Facebook and website page after the race and eventually on the Scottish athletics events page."

There will be a family fun run of 2k – 1 pm - around the park, children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult. An entry cost of £2 is payable on the day for a race number. All runners will receive a medal and bottle of water.

The club have worked hard to secure a bar with draft lager and cider and with pints priced at just £2 and would love to see as many of you enjoying these great prices as possible. We also have a hot dog stand, bottle stall, tea/coffee and tuck shop. Any money raised will be reinvested in the club which is a registered charity managed by volunteers.
