Thistle assistant boss Martin Crawford has praised his players 'for keeping the head' after some physical encounters recently.

Largs have recorded two 1-0 victories against Larkhall and Shettleston during consecutive weeks, and have built up some momentum going into Saturday's big match at league leaders Petershill.

Martin said: "I thought we played well in passages against Shettleston. Some of the sides in the division may not be the best technically, but they are all in there trying hard, and it is physically competitive. Shettleston didn't really bother us and our defence did very well. Some teams would fold under the physical pressure we have received in recent weeks, but we have stood our ground, and that is a good characteristic.

"I am surprised we have come through the past two games relatively unscathed given the physical nature, with just a cut to Graham Muir's ear, although I am surprised at some of the refereeing as there have been some clear infringements on our players which have been missed.
"We kept our heads on Saturday, and luckily enough, we won a penalty kick."
