Fans favourite Kevin Struthers is set to return to Largs Thistle after a short spell at Winton Rovers.

It is a big boost for the Barrfields side as they head for Petershill this Saturday, 2pm kick-off.

Thistle boss Stuart Davidson said: "We are delighted to have a player of Kevin's stature and ability. As much as I would have liked him to stay with us at the start of the season, Kevin left for his own reasons, but we are delighted to have him back.

"He is a big presence in the dressing room. Kevin has had a number of roles over the years at Largs including captain, assistant manager, etc ,and he is just coming back as a player, and it will have a good effect on the young players first and foremost."

"It is a great boost to the forward line with Joel Kasubandi and Scott Adam also signing this season. Petershill is always a tough place to go, but we are used to their surface, and there will be no excuses tomorrow. We are wanting to keep in the mix, and there is no reason why we can't go and get the three points."

And another role Kevin has served at the club is as a well known karaoke singer at curry nights, buses home, and even over the tannoy during last year's victory at Shotts Bon Accord, but the Thistle boss has one proviso: "Kevin is a mean karaoke singer, and he has to have a welcome back song for the players and management, but only on the proviso that it is not a Peter Andre song as he is just too good at that!"
