Thistle summer signing Ryan McKie has missed all the season due to injury but made a positive impact when he returned to the first team on Saturday.
The former Arthurlie and Saltcoats winger looked dangerous, hitting a shot off the woodwork, before scoring the opening goal against Muirkirk in the friendly encounter.
Thistle boss Stuart Davidson was delighted that Ryan was able to get a game under his belt, having had a knee injury away back in the Luncarty friendly encounter in July, keeping him out for four months.
He said: "It is great to have Ryan back and showing some good form. He has been really hungry at training, and it was good to give him some game time before the Renfrew game."
Reflecting on the friendly match which Largs won 2-1 thanks to a winning goal from Scott Adam on 62 minutes, Stuart said: "In general, we didn't create as many chances as I would have liked but credit to Muirkirk who played well defensively. There have been plenty of positives in recent weeks and we need to take these into the Renfrew game."
