Thistle boss Stuart Davidson wants a big effort to finish off the year on Saturday as Largs face up to Rutherglen Glencairn at Barrfields Park, 1.45pm kick-off.
The manager has warned his players that Saturday’s visitors are capable of challenging for a promotion place with Largs, and it could be a real battle for victory.
Stuart said: “Like us, Rutherglen will be thinking that they can easily push on for promotion. It is another tough game for us, but we have to show belief in ourselves, and go out and get the win.”
The Largs boss has reflected on the season so far, and said: “We have had a lot of disruption this season, losing Ryan McKie for a good few months, and then the goalkeeping situation over recent months. We rely a lot on Scott Adam for goals and he was away on his wedding and honeymoon, and we also had a couple of suspensions which didn’t help either.
“We were unfortunate to go out to Hurlford in the Ardagh Cup quarters, we could have won our game at Sauchie but we are not going to dwell on that, and we have made a good start in the West of Scotland Cup.
“I think we have been quite inconsistent so far, but we have shown at times what we are capable of. I am hoping to line up a friendly over the festive period to keep us ticking over for the important games in January.”
