The assistant referee during the recent Largs Thistle versus Rutherglen Glencairn match was from further afield than usual ... Slovakia!

According to his LinkedIn profile, Jozef Nemec is a banker, and involved with Glasgow University Entrepreneurship Society, and the Scottish Football Association.

Interestingly, Jozef was wearing his Slovakian branded referee outfit when taking the line during the recent Barrfields clash which finished 2-0 to Largs.

Thistle's friendly encounter at home with Kilwinning Rangers on Wednesday afternoon (December 27th) has been cancelled due to a frozen pitch.

Largs Thistle's competitive fixtures for early in the new year have been announced with the Barrfields men travelling to basement boys Maryhill on Saturday January 6, before hosting Cambuslang Rangers at home on Saturday January 13th. They then visit Darvel on the 20th January.

Largs have a new signing in keeper Blair Cousar from New Farm Loch amateurs near Kilmarnock, while forward Joel Kasubandi has been put out on loan to central league outfit Ashfield.
