As I turn 60 this month, it is important to stay fit if you are an international footballer like myself.
Representing Scotland veterans, and playing games all over the UK in recent years, I have also been involved in playing in two charity fixtures recently at Largs and Kilbirnie.
But what is the secret behind my fitness model?
I just love to play football.
Last year's over 50s, I damaged my shoulder and it knocked me for six and I couldn't do a lot.
I only played thirty minutes in games, and after going on holiday on a few occasions, I got out of shape.
So I now have a personal trainer Chris Millar - the former Morton and St Johnstone footballer - who cracks the whip.
I do various weights, cardio and I am enjoying it, and he has helped increased my fitness.
I always go for fresh food - salad, chicken and meat, and I don't eat processed stuff.
I am also trying to go gluten free - I read an article about jack Wilshere, and he has gone gluten and dairy free and he feels all the better for it.
Novak Djokovic in the tennis world is another example in the tennis world of going gluten free.
I still play 90 minute games for the over 35s, if selected.
One of the Northern Ireland guys who plays in goal who comes on for 20 minutes or 30 minutes is 72 years old this year.
I have no idea what his secret is but I would like to know!
But the great desire to keep playing football is what is behind my inspiration - I just love every minute of being out there.
There is this saying - you don't stop playing football because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing football.
I don't think Walking Football is for me, although it is becoming a big thing. and Greenock Morton run a community event at Inverkip Hub every Friday afternoon.
I try and stay off the booze. I would describe myself as more of a social drinker.
Do I like to celebrate when Scotland beat England in the veterans football? I like to celebrate when we beat anybody!
It was a hard shift when I played for Scotland veterans against Kilbirnie supporters in a recent charity game at Valefield Park.
We beat them in the first two years we have had, and Kilbirnie supporters have switched to legends and brought in some younger players including Robert Wraith of Largs, and Derek Rhodden.
So in this year's encounter, we drew 4-4 after 90 minutes, so we retained the Kilbirnie Ladeside charity cup for a third year.
Well done to Largs on winning their big Ayrshire Cup semi-final at Kilbirnie, and good luck to Arnie and the lads this weekend in their final league match at Cumbernauld.
