A cup final is always a special occasion.

It is always good to win a cup final, but I was sorry to hear that Largs lost out to Kilwinning in Saturday's Ayrshire Cup final.

Throughout my footballing career, there have been highs and lows.
I remember we played in the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Cup final in 1991 and lost out to Beith - I thought we were robbed that night, and I seem to remember Beith scored a very controversial goal.
We had Jimmy Boag and Stephen Quigg upfront that season and they always scored goals, and Frank Lovering played very well for us that night I remember.
It was a really disappointing end as I thought we deserved to win it, and to be honest I didn't even go up and pick up my runners-up medal - I just sat in the grass and watched it.

However, we won the West of Scotland Cup final in 1991 against Renfrew which was an unforgettable day, and of course the Scottish in 1994 - sometimes you only get one or two chances at a final as a player.
The Talbot v Hurlford game in this year's Scottish Cup final was not the best in terms of quality but it shows you that Auchinleck just keep going to the very end - and you've got to give their manager Tucker Sloan a lot of praise for re-building a new team. He has done a marvellous job
Beith are always a very strong outfit, although it surprised me that they lost to Lochee in the last 16 of the Scottish at home, but they have bounced back and are chasing a trio of trophies. Having won the league, they face Hurlford on Wednesday in the West of Scotland Cup final, and they also have the Evening Times Cup.
I know Chris Strain, the Kilwinning boss, will be gutted at missing out on the Premier title after having been leading the way in recent months.
The Ayrshire final last weekend was at Meadow Park.
I have many memories of Irvine Meadow from early in my career.
When I first played for Meadow in the 1970s, it was the committee who picked the team!
Is George Wall playing? There was then a show of hands from the committee.
Changed days indeed.
