Who is the outstanding team at the moment to win the World Cup?
Some of my football buddies have suggested Spain, but are they as good as they used to be? Probably not.
Argentina have Messi but they don't seem to be so good - losing 6-1 to Spain in a recent friendly.
As an outside bet what about Belgium as they have to come good at some time.
Germany seem to be in a process as well, surprisingly losing 2-1 to Austria earlier this month.
And Brazil are usually always a threat, specially with Neymar, and they will be looking for a bounce back after their shock 7-1 defeat to Germany in the last tournament.
And will Peru are world ranked no.11 - could they pose a problem after defeating Scotland 2-0?
I think it is as open as it ever has been - I can't really think of one outstanding team in this tournament.
Obviously you have outstanding footballers, such as Ronaldo, Salah, Griezmann, Suarez, Iniesta, and sometimes, some new names emerge.
Spain have a lot of players with man of the moment Sergio Ramos at the back, but if I had to tip anybody, I would go for France.
History says England are not going to get anywhere near it but if Kane can stay fit they are capable of a good tournament.
I will be passing through Barcelona on the day of the final so I am hoping Spain might get there as it would be a cracking atmosphere.
I was actually at the 1982 World Cup in Spain, and attended all the Scotland games.
The first game was New Zealand in Malaga which we won 5-2, then up to Seville for Brazil game which we lost 4-1.
I was right behind the goal when David Narey scored and still have a picture in the house of the scoreboard - Scotland 1 Brazil 0!
Brazil were outstanding. They just danced with the ball. The outside left Eder chipped Alan Rough which was an awesome strike.
After the game, we were going back in transit van to Marbella but we decided to stop as it was roasting, and we saw some lights in the distance - it was a hotel, and we decided to stop there for the night.
Unbeknown to us, it turned out to be Scotland's official hotel residence for the World Cup!
Sadly we didn't get to meet any of the players as they weren't there that night, but it was the SFA who were staying there, so we enjoyed a beer with Chief Exec Ernie Walker and the SFA beaks!
They were slating Alan Rough for his performance that night, but I thought that was very harsh.
I don't think Roughy could do anything to stop any of the goals - Brazil were just on a different level.
The atmosphere at the Brazilian fans was a mixture of Scottish and Brazil supporters, there was no segregation, and the atmosphere was amazing.
It is such a shame we have not qualified for any tournaments since 1998, and I wish my old friend Alex McLeish all the best, because when Scotland qualify for a World Cup it is an unmissable experience and you have to go!
