Largs Thistle 5 Port Glasgow 1
Largs outshone Port Glasgow in Tuesday night’s feisty friendly at Barrfields.
Former Thistle players Andy Monaghan and Paul Coyle were  in the away dugout, see picture, and it was a highly competitive opening with chances for both sides.
Largs trialist Ewing slammed home Laurie McMaster’s cross at the right post on 18 minutes to set the ball rolling.
Port then sent a header off the right post before Ewing smacked the crossbar at the other end.
McAffe levelled for the visitors after a poor kick out from Largs keeper Blair Cousar on 31 minutes.
Former Thistle defender Barry McLaughlin was red carded for dissent on 35 minutes, and it was a turning point, as Largs took control.
McMaster flicked home on 41 minutes before Scott Adam made it 3-1 with an accomplished finish before half-time.
Thistle used their one man advantage to good effect and regularly stretched Port Glasgow with Adam going close on several occasions.
New signing Harkins came off the bench for a sweet finish to make it four on 78 minutes.
And a penalty was awarded when winger Ryan McKie was chopped down in the box.
Adam converted on 80 minutes to ease Largs to a comfortable victory.
Former Thistle forward Jasper Donnolly forced sub keeper Murray Grayston into a fingertipped save, while Thistle’s David Mills also looked dangerous and forced a late save from the busy Port keeper.
