Thistle assistant gaffer Martin Crawford has praised the impact of teen Blair Docherty coming off the bench to help ease Largs to victory.
The on-loan Greenock Morton U20s forward stepped into the breach following injury to impressive winger Ben Black and scored a crucial third goal before setting up the fourth to put Largs on easy street.
And with Thistle looking at making another forward signing before Saturday's match with Renfrew, a 2pm kick-off at Barrfields Park, Largs are hoping to get back-to-back victories for the first time this season in the West of Scotland Premier.

Largs have a number of injuries including midfielders Paul Harkins, and Gary Fleming, wingers Ryan McKie and Ben Black, and keeper Blair Cousar.
Yet again, Thistle have queried why a player has not got sent off after inflicting a serious injury on one of their players.
Crawford said: "The rule is that if it a tackle that is not going for the ball and denying a goalscoring opportunity then that is a red. If it is a tackle and he mis-times it then it is a yellow. Ben had knocked the ball past the Petershill keeper who had no chance of getting the ball when he chopped Ben down.
"Ben has gone past the keeper and was set to score. The referee didn't seem to see it that way unfortunately."
Reflecting on the 4-1 victory in Glasgow, Crawford said: "To say we are happy with the victory is an understatement.
"We gave away a bit of a sloppy goal in the first half which we should have defended better. The boys took that on board at half-time and we produced a very good display in the second half.
"The first half was really good the way we played. We told the players to keep doing what they are doing.
"We tweaked things very slightly, and it worked.
"We took our chances as and when they came and some great finishes.
"Great for Blair Docherty - a quality goal and you could see it sailing into the top corner. His confidence came after that. If you are good enough, you are old enough.
"It is great for him being a local lad - and he needs pitch time and he showed what he is capable of.
"At the stage of the career he is at, he is only a young player, and this is what he needs.
"It was good to see John Carter back and stuck it away with his left foot.
"The strength and depth in the squad is good
"Kevin is unbelievable, he knows where the back of the net is.
"We have scored seven goals in two games in the Premier - and the players deserve great credit.
"They have been fantastic and I can't really fault them on Saturday."
"All the sides have made sticky starts, and it was interesting to see that Renfrew beat Irvine Meadow 5-1 at the weekend.
"Petershill had had a sticky start but we didn't notice that and we had to work hard to get our victory, and we will have the same approach against Renfrew."
Another big incentive for Thistle is to get their first home league win of the season.
Crawford said: "We want to get that monkey off our back - and we will be busting a gut to make sure we do that.
"We want to win all these games coming up."
