Largs Thistle Under 16s capped off a successful season by parading the Central Ayrshire Cup at Barrfields to show to the supporters at half-time during the Largs Thistle v Auchinleck Talbot clash.

And fans got an opportunity to cheer on the lads who could be Thistle stars of the future after they achieved a marvellous run of results, culminating in a 4-1 demolition job of Auchinleck at Kilwinning Sports Centre last month.

And to prove it was no fluke, the boys went and gained another victory against Talbot away, before thumping their neighbours Cumnock 10-0.

It made it all the sweeter that that Thistle boys got the chance to parade the cup at the senior clash last Monday given Auchinleck were the opposition, as you can see from Ryan Scott's photographs.

It was also a significant milestone for the Largs Thistle Community Club as the U16s notched an important piece of silverware.

Thistle President Peter Connor praised the young team and said: "To reach a cup final and win is a fantastic achievement and you all should be proud of yourselves. Well done to all the coaches for all the hard work throughout the season. It is a fantastic result guys - well done to everyone, This is just the start for 2001s as you are on fire."

The Thistle U16s are managed by Ally Burns with assistant Iain McShane, and the boys are looking forward to competing in the U17s next season.
