Largs Thistle AFC 6 Auchinleck Boswell 3

A catalogue of complacency and calamity almost cost Largs their winning run against bottom side Auchinleck , before on form strikers Mills and Donaldson rescued the points The away side took the lead in bizarre circumstances, when Cunningham in goals, failed to control an awkward Robson back-pass. The 'keeper's diving attempt to keep the ball out with his hand resulted in an indirect free kick 10 yards from goal, which was duly despatched.

Largs pulled level following a Russell free kick which was nodded home by Mills but quickly found themselves behind when an 18 yard strike evaded the home keeper and squirmed into the net, capping a first half to forget for Cunningham and Largs.

A stern half time talking-to saw Largs start the second half more brightly and player manager McGowan brought Largs back level with a close range header from a McMunn cross.

Largs were soon in front when good midfield work from Russell allowed Donaldson to tee up Mills for the finish, with a fourth added by Donaldson, deflecting home a wayward Cockerill shot.

Auchinleck were let back in the game when a Sewell attempted slide tackle looped the ball high into his own net, but the points were secured when Mills notched his 22nd of the campaign with a driven strike following a Donaldson cut back.

Donaldson then completed his double with a neat finish getting on the end of a fine through ball from Wilson.

Largs play Ochiltree at home next week, 2pm kick off.
