Largs put on a Premier showing against the mighty Pollok but were unfortunate to lose out in the Evening Times Cup quarter finals.

Thistle had been idle for four and a half weeks after winning the Stagecoach Super First Division, and were entered into the prestigious event after winning the league.

John Robertson scored a stunning opener to take the lead but Pollok scored two second half goals to win the tie through Bryan Dingwall and Chris Cruickshank in the 81st minute.

It was a good showing from Largs who are busy preparing for next season.
