Thistle U19’s made it three wins in a row after a classy display against a Barrhead team sitting 6th in the league giving their best performance of the season.
There were early chances with Ross McKay skilfully beating two players to cross for Lloyd Dicks who headed just over.
Barrhead rarely troubled the Largs defence of Jack Traynor, Ross MacColl, Ethan Reid, and Ross Colquhoun, and Craig McGill but did force a couple of corners that were punched away by goalkeeper Calum Murray who has only conceded one goal in three games.
On 35 minutes, Adam P McKeen beat two players from a narrow angle to set up Ross McKay to head in the first goal. The second goal came from a Thistle corner by Shaun Galloway which was headed into the net by Lloyd Dicks, 2-0 half- time.
On the hour, Ross Mackay beat two players on the bye-line, waited for the keeper to dive before coolly slotting the ball into the net for an excellent solo goal. Thistle now put on the subs and Alistair Bell came close to scoring, seeing his powerful shot go just wide.
On 65 minutes, the hard working Adam P McKeen got his reward with a fine goal from a shot inside the six yard box, and nearly scored a second when his next shot was headed off the line.
On 83minutes, a great passing team move resulted in Jack Rafferty scoring from just inside the box, 5-0. Ross McKay then turned provider to pass to Lloyd Dicks to make it 6-0.
Sub Ryan Evans then went on a good run on the right side and unselfishly passed to play in the “outstanding” Ross McKay to get his hat trick. 7-0. Last but not least it was Captain Ross MacColl who also had a fine game,to storm up the wing and unleash a powerful shot into the net.
An excellent Team performance from all the Thistle youngsters in a fine display of passing football.
