Largs running man Ian Rutherford achieved a personal best in an international setting at the weekend.
Ian recorded an impressive 1.46.28 in the Eindhoven Half Marathon in The Netherlands.
After the race, a delighted Ian said: “I am feeling very happy and proud of my performance in one of the best atmospheres I've ever experienced in 14 years of road racing.”
The North Ayrshire Athletics Club seniors were especially busy last weekend in a number of events over the country
The results are as follows: Glasgow Half Marathon - Ian Mcilwraith 1hr 25min 18sec Mark Preston 1hr 31min 44sec Alisdair McCallum 1hr 34min 26sec Debbie Neal 1hr 53min Jamie Cooper 2hr 04min; Glasgow 10k - Stephen Nisbet 39min 43sec David Wilson 41min 58sec; Glencoe Marathon - John Leitch 4hr 38min 04sec Fiona Comrie 4hr 59min 41 sec.
The weather wasn't great to say the least but that didn't stop the seniors going out and having some great runs.
