THE all new and inclusive Inverclyde Sports Centre is approaching its first anniversary in April, and is linking up with the new Largs Campus and also hosts a diverse range of community sport.
The aim of the column is to give you an idea of the different groups who are visiting the centre, and interesting events and activities taking place at the centre.
l Inverclyde Sports Centre had the Team Scotland Commonwealth Games gymnasts training with then all week at the centre in final preparation for the Gold Coast Games kicking off soon. 
They hosted a celebratory lunch for them to wish them luck as they jet off to compete. 
Barry Fleeting, head of centre, has a message for the Commonwealth Games athletes.
He said: “We are delighted that the Commonwealth Games gymnasts have been using Inverclyde as a base for training and we wish them well as they endeavour to win medals on the Gold Coast. 
“Everyone at the centre will be cheering them on!”

l Shoto Budo athletes from Bearsden Martial Arts Club were with us over the weekend, the group have been visiting the centre for over 25 years! 
l The SFA LD (Learning Difficulties) squad trained at the centre on our grass pitches last weekend. 
This is the first time the group have trained here following the launch of the Scottish Para-football Association was launched at the centre a month ago.
l Thanks to Inverkip Primary and Queen Margaret Academy pupils who were our first schools to stay residentially this year, kicking off our busy few months with school visits.
